The mission of the educational institutions of the Hungarian Lutheran Church is to educate the entrusted young people for responsible and committed Christian freedom according to the Lutheran tradition, to prepare them to high standards for their individual vocations and to work to find a home in the in the Church community. The Department of Education is responsible for the public education institutions of the Hungarian Lutheran Church, and performs the maintenance tasks and the related management activities. It brings together and coordinates matters of public education, higher education and adult education. It cooperates closely with the Lutheran Pedagogical Professional Service on educational issues, thus helping the efficient operation of the Lutheran public education system. It prepares professional materials for church decision-making on Lutheran public education and supports the work of decision-makers. It represents the cause of Lutheran education to the Hungarian state.
